There's No Christmas Without the Cross

 Who doesn't love Christmas? The sights, the smells, and the sounds remind us of Christmas past and somehow are new again every year. Yet, during the celebration of Christmas, it can be easy to forget that the purpose of Bethlehem was Calvary. We lose ourselves in the joy of the birth and forget the power of the sacrifice. We sing of joy and peace through the birth of Jesus and miss the triumph of the resurrection. Because as special as the birth is, there would be no Christmas without the cross.
